P1 Planetary Carrier Bushing Inspection and Replacement

Tools Required
^ J43781 P1 Bushing Remover/Installer
^ J8092 Universal Driver





Important: The preferred method for removing/installing the P1 carrier bushing is to use J43781 and a press. If a press is not available, use J43781 and J8092 universal driver.

1. Position P1 planetary carrier (4) on the press with the external splines facing up.
2. If the bushing will be removed without a press, install the short end of J43781 (2) onto J8092 (1).
3. Using J43781, press or drive bushing (4) out of the carrier.





4. If the bushing will be installed without a press, install the long end of J43781 (2) onto J8092 (1).
5. Install a new bushing (3) onto J43781 (2).
6. Using J43781, press or drive the bushing into the carrier until J43781 (2) seats.
