Front Support Assemble

Tools Required
^ J43770 Main, Lube, Converter Relief Valve Spring Compressor
^ J43772 Torque Converter Seal Installer
^ J43773 Valve Spring Compressor
^ J24459-5 Spring Compressor Adapter





1. Position the front support assembly (1) so that the rear of the assembly is facing down.
2. Install the converter flow valve (2).
3. Install the converter flow valve spring (3) and stop (4).





4. Install J24459 5 (1) onto J43770 (2).





5. Align J43770 (5) and J24459-5 (4) with the front support so that the following conditions are met:
^ The threaded rod is facing down.
^ Two bolt holes align with 2 bolt holes in the front support.

6. Install J43770 (5) onto the front support assembly (1).
7. Install 2 front support retaining bolts (2).
8. Align the slot in J24459-5 (4) to allow installing retainer pin (3).
9. Using J24459-5 (4) and J43770 (5), compress the converter flow valve spring until retainer pin (3) can be installed.
10. Install the pin through front support (1). Make sure the pin is below the front support surface.
11. Relieve the converter flow valve spring tension.
12. Remove the J tools.





13. Install the converter relief valve (1) and spring (2).





14. Using J43773 (2), compress the converter relief valve spring until the retaining clip (1) can be installed.
15. Install the clip. Make sure the retaining clip is below the surface of the front support.





16. Install the lube regulator valve (1).
17. Install the lube regulator valve spring (2).
18. Install the O-ring (3) onto the lube regulator stop (4).
19. Install the lube regulator valve stop (4).





20. Align the slot of J24459-5 (2) with retainer pin (1) hole.
21. Using J24459-5 (2), compress the lube regulator valve spring until the retainer pin (1) can be installed.
22. Install the retainer pin (1). Make sure the pin is below the surface of the front.





23. Install the C1 clutch backfill valve (1).
24. Install the C1 clutch backfill valve spring (2).





25. Using J43773 (2), compress the C1 clutch backfill valve spring until the retaining clip (1) can be installed.
26. Install the retaining clip (1). Make sure the retaining clip is below the surface of the front support.





27. Install the main regulator valve (1).
28. Install the main regulator valve spring (2) and stop (3).





29. Install J24459-5 (1) onto J43770 (2).
30. Install J43770 (5) onto the front support assembly.
31. Install 2 bolts (2).
32. Align J24459-5 (4) slot with the retainer pin (3).
33. Using J43770 and J24459-5, compress the main regulator valve spring until the stop is past the pin hole.
34. Install the retainer pin (3). Make sure the pin is below the surface of the front support.
35. Relieve the spring pressure on.
36. Remove J24459-5 and J43770.
