Removal Procedure
Important: Remove the needle bearing only if replacing both the bearing and the ground sleeve.
1. Position the front support (2) on a press bed so that the it is supported by wooden blocks and the ground sleeve is facing down.
2. Install the short end of J43765 (1) into the rear of the front support.
3. Press the ground sleeve from front support (2).
Installation Procedure
1. Position the front support (2) on the work table so that the rear hub is facing down.
2. Align the ground sleeve with the front support so that the sleeve is centered over the front support and the rear of the sleeve is facing down.
Important: Arrows on the drawing indicate the holes that must be aligned.
3. Rotate the ground sleeve (1) until the lowest and smallest hole in the ground sleeve is aligned with the fluid passage (2).
4. Gently tap the ground sleeve into the front support until the front support holds the ground sleeve in a vertical position.
5. Align J43765-1 (1) so that the lip of the tool is downward.
6. Install J43765-1 (1) onto the ground sleeve.
7. While holding J43765-1 (3) in place, turn over the front support/ground sleeve and place J43765 on a press.
8. Install J43765-3 (1) into the rear hub of front support (2).
9. Press on J43765-3 until the ground sleeve seats.
10. Check the Total Indicated Runout (TIR) of the ground sleeve as follows.
10.1. Install front support (1) in a lathe, clamping on dimension D.
10.2. Use a dial indicator. to make sure front support surface C is square with the dimension D.
10.3. Check the TIR along ground sleeve axis B at ground sleeve pitch diameter A
Total Indicated Runout
The TIR must not exceed 0.20 mm (0.008 inch).
10.4. Remove the front support from the lathe.
