Instrument Panel (I/P) Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

Caution: Refer to Restraint System Service Precautions in Service Precautions.

1. Remove the I/P trim panel. Instrument Panel (IP) - Trim Panel Replacement - Upper
2. Remove the center console, if equipped. Service and Repair
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Remove the driver side knee bolster. Service and Repair
5. Remove the lower I/P trim panel. Instrument Panel (IP) - Trim Panel Replacement - Lower
6. Remove the passenger side air bag module. Service and Repair
7. Remove the radio. Radio Replacement
8. Remove the HVAC control. Service and Repair
9. Remove the accessory switch housing. Instrument Panel (IP) - Accessory Switch Replacement
10. Remove the left air louver housing. Deflector Replacement - Instrument Panel Air - Left
11. Remove the steering column. Steering Column
12. Remove the communication interface module, if equipped. Service and Repair
13. Remove the remote control door lock receiver module, if equipped. Service and Repair
14. Remove the data link connector from the I/P. Service and Repair
15. Remove the park brake release lever from the I/P. Park Brake Release Handle Assembly Replacement
16. Remove the I/P cluster. Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) - Replacement
17. Remove both front window air ducts from the I/P assembly.
18. Remove the harness from the I/P. Service and Repair




19. Remove the I/P assembly retaining bolts (3) and nuts (4).
20. Remove all harness hold down retainers from the I/P assembly.
21. Remove the I/P assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the I/P assembly to the vehicle.
2. Install the harness hold down retainers to the I/P assembly.




3. Install the I/P assembly retaining bolts (3) and nuts (4).
Ensure the wire harness is routed to all of the openings.
4. Install the harness to the I/P. Service and Repair
5. Install both front window air duct to the I/P assembly.
6. Install the I/P cluster assembly. Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) - Replacement
7. Install the park brake release lever to the I/P. Park Brake Release Handle Assembly Replacement
8. Install the data link connector to the I/P. Service and Repair
9. Install the remote control door lock receiver module, if equipped. Service and Repair
10. Install the CIM, if equipped. Service and Repair
11. Install the steering column. Service and Repair
12. Install the left air louver housing. Deflector Replacement - Instrument Panel Air - Left
13. Install the accessory switch housing. Instrument Panel (IP) - Accessory Switch Replacement
14. Install the HVAC control. Service and Repair
15. Install the radio. Radio Replacement
16. Install the passenger side airbag module. Service and Repair
17. Install the lower trim panel. Instrument Panel (IP) - Trim Panel Replacement - Lower
18. Install the driver side knee bolster. Service and Repair
19. Connect the negative battery cable.
20. Install the center console, if equipped. Service and Repair
21. Install the I/P trim panel. Instrument Panel (IP) - Trim Panel Replacement - Upper
