Lock Replacement - Rear Door

LOCK REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR

Power (AU3) door lock shown, manual (without AU3) door lock similar.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the rear door trim panel.
2. Remove the rear door speaker.
3. Remove the rear inside door handle.
4. Remove the rear door water deflector.
5. Remove the rear door window run channel.




6. Disconnect the lock cable retainer (1) and remove the lock cables (2) from the retainer.
7. Disconnect the outside door handle rod by releasing the retaining clip on the outside door handle.
8. Remove the bolt (1) retaining the door lock assembly to the inner panel, if equipped with AU3.
9. Remove the screws retaining the door lock assembly to the door.




10. Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear door lock assembly, if equipped with AU3.
11. Remove the door lock assembly from the door.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the rear door lock assembly to the rear door.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the rear door lock assembly, if equipped with AU3.
3. Install the screws retaining the rear door lock assembly to the door.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the rear door lock screws to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

4. Install the bolt (1) retaining the door lock assembly to the inner panel, if equipped with AU3.

Tighten the rear door lock bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

5. Connect the outside door handle rod to the door handle using the retaining clip on the rear outside door handle.




6. Install the lock cables (2) into the lock cable retainer (1) and connect the retainer.
7. Install the rear door window run channel.
8. Install the rear inside door handle.
9. Install the rear door water deflector.
10. Install the rear door speaker.
11. Install the rear door trim panel.
