EI05071 - Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Inoperative (Inspect Cowl Area for Water Leak)

This bulletin is being revised to correct the labor operation number. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 05-08-52-001A (Section 08 - Body and Accessories).
Condition
Some customers may comment that one or both key fobs no longer work. After confirming the customer concern, the technician may find that a simple re-learn will correct the condition. If this is true, follow the correction below.
Correction
All customer owned transmitters must be present.
Confirm the customer concern.
Perform Transmitter (fob) programming per SI. Refer to SI Document ID # 1547607.
If reprogramming the transmitter (fob) CORRECTS the customer concern, inspect the cowl area and the BCM for evidence of a water leak.
If there IS evidence of a water leak into the BCM, REPLACE the BCM and REPAIR the source of the leak following published procedures.
If there is NO evidence of a water leak AND the vehicle HAS prior service history for the transmitter (fob) mop, REPLACE the BCM following published procedures.
If there is NO evidence of a water leak AND the vehicle has NO previous service history for this condition, DO NOT replace the BCM.
If programming the transmitter (fob) DOES NOT CORRECT the customer concern, follow published Service Information to diagnose and correct the concern. Refer to SI Document ID # 1394639.

Claim ONLY ONE of the following applicable labor operations based on the corrective action taken.
For vehicles repaired under warranty, use the table.
