Ignition Switch Replacement

Disassembly Procedure





Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disable the Restraints system.
2. Remove the upper and lower trim covers.
3. Remove the wire harness assembly (4) out of the wire harness strap (5).Remove the wire harness straps (3) from the wire harness assembly (4).Remove the wire harness strap (2) from the upper tilt head assembly (1).





4. Slide the 2 connectors (2) off from the bulk head connector (1).





5. Remove the key alarm connector (1) from the ignition lock cylinder case (2).
6. Remove the 2 tapping screws from the ignition switch assembly (3).
7. Remove the ignition switch assembly (3).

Assembly Procedure





1. Install the ignition switch assembly (3) onto the ignition lock cylinder case (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the 2 tapping screws into the ignition switch assembly (3).
^ Tighten the screws to 1.5 Nm (13 inch lbs.).
3. Install the key alarm connector (1) to the ignition lock cylinder case (2).





4. Slide the 2 connectors (2) onto the bulk head connector (1).





Caution: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Coil Caution in Service Precautions.

5. Install the wire harness strap (2) into the steering column tilt head assembly (1).
6. Install the wire harness straps (3) onto the wire harness assembly (4).
7. Install the wire harness assembly (4) into the wire harness strap (5).
8. Install the upper and lower trim covers.
9. Enable the Restraints system.
