Generator Battery Control Module Replacement

Removal Procedure






1. Disconnect the battery service disconnect/connect.
2. Remove the battery cover.
3. Remove the control module nuts.
4. Lift the control module up off of the studs.
5. Disconnect the control module electrical connectors.
6. Remove the control module.

Installation Procedure






1. Connect the control module electrical connectors.
2. Install the control module.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

3. Install the control module nuts.

Tighten the nuts to 6 Nm (53 lb in).

4. Install the battery cover.
5. Program the energy storage control module. Service Programming System (SPS) - How to Use
