Heater Coolant Heater Temperature Sensor Replacement



HEATER COOLANT HEATER TEMPERATURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
J-38125 Terminal Repair Kit

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Remove the fuel operated heater (FOH).
3. Remove the FOH control module (4).




4. Remove the FOH blower cover retaining screws (2).
5. Remove the FOH blower cover (3).
6. Remove the FOH combustion cover retaining screws (1).
7. Remove the FOH combustion cover.
8. Remove the coolant heater temperature sensor retaining screw.
9. Remove the coolant heater temperature sensor retaining bracket.
10. Remove the coolant heater temperature sensors.

IMPORTANT: Remove and discard the O-ring on the temperature sensors.

11. Using J-38125-560 remove the coolant heater temperature sensors wiring from the electrical connector.

IMPORTANT: Note the routing of the wiring to ensure proper installation.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the coolant heater temperature sensors wiring to the electrical connector.
2. Install the coolant heater temperature sensors with new O-rings.
3. Install the coolant heater temperature sensor retaining bracket.
4. Install the coolant heater temperature sensor retaining screw (5).

Tighten the screw to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice.

5. Install the FOH combustion cover.
6. Install the FOH combustion cover retaining screws (1).

Tighten the screw to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

7. Install the FOH blower cover (3).
8. Install the FOH blower cover retaining screws (2).

Tighten the screw to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

9. Install the FOH control module (4).
10. Install the FOH.
11. Lower the vehicle.
