Lock Replacement - Front Door

Removal Procedure

Important: The door ajar switch is contained within the lock. Therefore, removal of the lock will include the removal of the door ajar switch.

1. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the rear run channel from the door. Refer to Window Run Channel Replacement (Service and Repair).




4. Remove the lock rods from the lock.
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the lock (1).
6. Remove the lock rod guide from the door lock (1).
7. Remove the bolts that retain the lock (1) to the door.
8. Remove the lock (1) from the door.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the lock (1) to the door.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the bolts that retain the lock (1) to the door.

Tighten the retaining bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Install the lock rod guide to the door lock (1).
4. Connect the electrical connectors to the lock (1).
5. Install the lock rods to the lock (1).
6. Install the rear run channel to the door. Refer to Window Run Channel Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair).
8. Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Service and Repair).
