Fuel Tank Bracket and Mounting Replacement

FUEL TANK BRACKET AND MOUNTING REPLACEMENT (PICKUP)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the CNG fuel tank.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting in the C/K Pickup service data.




3. Remove the exhaust system heat shields.




4. Remove and discard the frame support bracket nuts (3).
5. Remove the frame support brackets (4).
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Remove the CNG fuel tank mounting frame.
8. Discard the fuel tank frame mounting bolts.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the CNG fuel tank mounting frame into the bed using new mounting bolts.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting in the C/K Pickup service data.




3. Install the frame support brackets (4) using new nuts (3).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the nuts to 81 N.m (60 lb ft).




4. Install the exhaust system heat shields and bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

5. Install the CNG fuel tank.
