Radiator Replacement (8.1L)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the radiator inlet hose for the 8.1L engine.
2. Remove the radiator outlet hose for the 8.1L engine.
3. Remove the lower fan shroud.
4. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
5. Remove the push pin from the air cleaner adapter (2).
6. Remove the bolts from the air cleaner adapter (2).
7. Remove the air cleaner adapter (2) from the vehicle.





8. Reposition the surge tank inlet hose clamp at the radiator.
9. Remove the surge tank inlet hose from the radiator.
10. Disconnect the engine oil cooler lines from the radiator, if necessary.
11. Disconnect the transmission oil cooler lines from the radiator, if necessary .





12. Remove the radiator bolts.
13. Remove the radiator.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the radiator.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the radiator bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
3. Connect the transmission oil cooler lines to the radiator, if necessary .
4. Connect the engine oil cooler lines to the radiator, if necessary.





5. Install the surge tank inlet hose to the radiator.
6. Reposition the surge tank inlet hose clamp at the radiator.





7. Install the air cleaner adapter (2) to the vehicle.
8. Install the bolts to the air cleaner adapter (2).
^ Tighten the bolts to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.).
9. Install the push pin to the air cleaner adapter (2).
10. Install the air cleaner assembly.
11. Install the lower fan shroud.
12. Install the radiator outlet hose for the 8.1L engine.
13. Install the radiator inlet hose for the 8.1L engine.
