Hybrid Drive System
Cooling Fan - Starter/Generator Control Module Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Drain the starter/generator control module (SGCM) cooling system.
2. Remove the SGCM radiator outlet hose (1) from the SGCM radiator (2).
3. Remove the ambient air temperature sensor (2) from the SGCM radiator bracket (3).
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the SGCM cooling fan.
5. Remove the bolts (1) from the SGCM radiator (5).
6. Remove the SGCM radiator (5) from the radiator core support (4).
7. Remove the bolts (4) from the SGCM cooling fan (3).
8. Remove the SGCM cooling fan (3) from the SGCM radiator (2).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the SGCM cooling fan (3) to the SGCM radiator (2).
2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Install the bolts (4) to the SGCM cooling fan (3).
^ Tighten the bolts to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
3. Install the SGCM radiator (5) to the radiator core support (4).
4. Install the bolts (1) to the SGCM radiator (5).
^ Tighten the bolts to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.).
5. Connect the electrical connector to the SGCM cooling fan.
6. Install the ambient air temperature sensor (2) to the SGCM radiator bracket (3).
7. Install the SGCM radiator outlet hose (1) to the SGCM radiator (2).
8. Notice: The procedure below must be followed. Improper coolant level could result in a low or high coolant level condition, causing starter/generator control module damage.
Fill the SGCM cooling system.
