Valve Rocker Arm Cover Installation - Left Side





1. Important:
^ All gasket surfaces should be free of oil or other foreign material during assembly.
^ DO NOT use the valve rocker arm cover gasket again.
^ The valve rocker arm cover bolt grommets may be used again.
^ If the vapor vent grommet has been removed from the valve rocker arm cover, install a NEW vapor vent gourmet during assembly.

Install a NEW cover gasket (504) into the left valve rocker arm cover.





2. Install the valve rocker arm cover onto the cylinder head.

3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the cover bolts with grommets.
Tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).





4. Apply threadlock GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489), or equivalent, to the threads of the bracket studs.
5. Install the ignition coils and bracket assembly and studs.
Tighten the ignition coil and bracket assembly studs to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
