Rear Seat Latch Replacement (with 40 Percent Seat)

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the rear seat from the vehicle.
2. Remove the rear seat cushion outboard trim panel.
3. Remove the rear seat cushion inboard trim panel.
4. Remove the rear seat cushion cover and pad.
5. Remove the rear seat latch outer covers (1, 8).
6. Remove the rear seat latch upper bolts (2, 7).
7. Remove the rear seat latch inner covers (4, 5).
8. Remove the rear seat latch lower bolts (9, 10).
9. Disconnect the rear seat latch cables from the rear seat latches.

Installation Procedure




1. Connect the rear seat latch cables to the rear seat latches (3, 6).
2. Install the rear seat latch inner covers (4, 5) to the seat latches (3, 6).
3. Install the rear seat cushion latches (3, 6) to the rear seat cushion frame.
4. Torque the rear seat latch lower bolts (9, 10).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

Tighten the bolts to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).

5. Rotate the rear seat cushion latch upper sectors upwards until they fully lock, one per side.

* Ensure that both latches are fully locked.
* Do not release either latch until all steps are complete.

6. Install the rear seat latch upper sectors to the seat back with one bolt (2, 7).

Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

7. Loosen the cushion latch to cushion bolts (9) three full rotations.
8. Torque the rear bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).

9. Torque the front bolt (9).

Tighten the bolt to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).

10. Install the rear seat latch outer covers (4, 8).
11. Install the rear seat cushion cover and pad.
12. Install the rear seat cushion inboard trim panel.
13. Install the rear seat cushion outboard trim panel.
14. Install the rear seat to the vehicle.
