Cylinder Head Bolts
Notice: This component uses torque-to-yield bolts. When servicing this component do not reuse the bolts, New torque-to-yield bolts must be installed. Reusing used torque-to-yield bolts will not provide proper bolt torque and clamp load. Failure to install NEW torque-to-yield bolts may lead to engine damage.
Install NEW cylinder head bolts.
Cylinder Head Bolt - 10
First Pass 30 N.m 22 lb ft
Final Pass 155 degrees
Cylinder Head End Bolts - 2 Short
First Pass 7 N.m 62 lb in
Final Pass 60 degrees
Cylinder Head End Bolts - 1 Long
First Pass 7 N.m 62 lb in
Final Pass 120 degrees
Exhaust Camshaft Actuator Bolt
First Pass 25 N.m 18 lb ft
Final Pass 135 degrees
Intake Camshaft Sprocket Bolt
First Pass 20 N.m 15 lb ft
Final Pass 100 degrees
Intake Manifold Bolt 10 N.m 89 lb in
Exhaust Manifold Bolt - 3 Times in Sequence 20 N.m 15 lb ft
Camshaft Cap Bolt 12 N.m 106 lb in
^ Observe the markings on the camshaft caps. Each camshaft cap is marked in order to identify its location. The markings have the following meanings:
* The arrow should point to the front of the engine.
* The number indicates the position from the front of the engine.
* The "E" indicates the exhaust camshaft.
* The "I" indicates the intake camshaft.
