Power Steering Pump Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair) for the 2.9L engine or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair) for the 3.7L engine.
2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair) for the 2.9L engine or Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair) for the 3.7L engine.
3. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor harness clip from the pump body.
5. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
6. Disconnect the power steering pressure hoses from the power steering pump.
7. Remove the power steering pump mounting bolts.
8. Remove the power steering pump.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the power steering pump.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .
2. Install the power steering pump mounting bolts.
Tighten the power steering pump mounting bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
3. Connect the power steering pressure hoses to the power steering pump.
Tighten the power steering pressure hose to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
4. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
5. Connect the oil pressure sensor harness clip to the pump body.
6. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (Service and Repair) .
7. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair) for the 2.9L engine or Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair) for the 3.7L engine.
8. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair) for the 2.9L engine or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair) for the 3.7L engine.
9. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding (Service and Repair) .
10. Inspect the power steering system for leaks.
