Evaporator Tube Replacement
Evaporator Tube Replacement (LLV - 2.9L, LLR - 3.7L)
Tools Required
J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
Removal Procedure
1. Recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Non HP2) (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Non HP2)) .
2. Remove the evaporator tube nut (1) from the TXV stud.
3. Remove the evaporator tube (2) from the TXV.
4. Remove the evaporator tube from the retaining clips (1) on the fender.
5. Remove the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Remove the evaporator tube retaining clip from the condenser.
7. Remove the evaporator tube attaching bolt (1) at the receiver dehydrator.
8. Remove the evaporator tube.
9. Remove the O-ring seal and discard.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the new O-ring seal. Refer to O-Ring Replacement (O-Ring Replacement) .
2. Install the evaporator tube.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .
3. Install the bolt (1) to the receiver dehydrator.
Tighten the nut to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
4. Install the evaporator tube retaining clip to the front of the condenser.
5. Install the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Install the evaporator tube to the retaining clips (1) on the fender.
7. Install the evaporator tube (2) to the TXV.
8. Install the evaporator tube nut (1) to the TXV stud.
9. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Non HP2) (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Non HP2)) .
10. Leak test the fittings of the components using the J 39400.
