Suction Hose Replacement



Suction Hose Replacement (LLV - 2.9L, LLR - 3.7L)

Tools Required

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Non HP2) (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Non HP2)) .
2. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (Service and Repair) .




3. Remove the suction hose mounting bolt (1) from the A/C compressor (7).
4. Remove the suction hose (2) from the A/C compressor.




5. Remove the nut (4) from the TXV stud.
6. Remove the suction hose from the TXV.




7. Remove the suction hose assembly (4) from the vehicle.
8. Discard all of the used sealing washers. Cap the system openings.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the suction hose (4) to the vehicle.
2. Install new sealing washers. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement (Sealing Washer Replacement) .




3. Install the suction hose to the TXV.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

4. Install the nut (4) to the TXV stud.

Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).




5. Install the suction hose (2) to the compressor using new sealing washers. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement (Sealing Washer Replacement) .
6. Install the suction hose mounting bolt (1) to the A/C compressor (7).

Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

7. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (Service and Repair) .
8. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Non HP2) (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Non HP2)) .
9. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A.
