Heater Coolant Heater Replacement

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac N Fill).
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Remove the heater coolant heater muffler.
4. Disconnect the heater coolant heater electrical connectors.
5. Disconnect the fuel supply hose to the heater coolant heater.




6. Reposition the heater hose clamps at the heater coolant heater using J 38185.
7. Remove the heater hoses from the heater coolant heater.




8. Remove the air supply hose from the heater coolant heater.




9. Remove the heater coolant heater retaining bolt.




10. Remove the heater coolant heater from the bracket.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the heater coolant heater to the bracket.






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the heater coolant heater retaining bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 6 N.m (53 lb in).




3. Install the air supply hose to the heater coolant heater.




4. Install the heater hoses to the heater coolant heater.
5. Reposition the heater hose clamps at the heater coolant heater using J 38185.
6. Connect the fuel supply hose to the heater coolant heater.
7. Connect the heater coolant heater electrical connectors.
8. Install the heater coolant heater muffler.
9. Lower the vehicle.
10. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac N Fill).
