Correction
Reposition the fuel filter mounting bracket using the procedure below to increase clearance between the fuel filter and fuel tank.
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the fuel cooler assembly and secure out of the way.
3. Remove both fuel filters from the mounting bracket and secure out of the way.
4. Bend the mounting bracket tab up slightly. This will allow the bracket to slide forward.
5. Remove the mounting bracket to frame bolts.
6. Turn the mounting bracket over to allow for access to the bolt holes.
7. Add a slot to the mounting bracket as shown. The slot should be perpendicular to the current slot. The length of the slot should be 17 mm (0.669 in) with a width of 8 mm (0.315 in).
8. Install the fuel filter mounting bracket into position on the frame and loosely install the bolts. Slide the slotted side full forward and tighten the bolt. Tighten the other bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
9. Bend the mounting bracket tab down over the frame.
10. Install both fuel filters to the mounting bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
11. Install the fuel cooler assembly.
12. The clearance between the filter and the tank should now be around 12 mm (0.472 in).
