Hard Tonneau Cover Has Rough/Sharp Feeling Edge (Sand Edge of Tonneau Cover)
Models:
2007-2008 Chevrolet Silverado
2007-2008 GMC Sierra
Condition
Some customers may comment that the bottom edge of the hard tonneau cover has a rough looking outer edge or a sharp feeling edge when opening the cover. Refer to the illustrations above.
Cause
There may have been an incomplete smoothing process when the tonneau cover was manufactured.
Correction
Lightly wet sand the inner or outer edge of the tonneau cover with 1000 grit sandpaper.
Important:
In some cases, but not all, it may be necessary to polish sand marks out of the top when the sanding is complete.
