Replacement Information for Broken T-Bolt on Negative and/or Positive Battery Cable Terminal
Models:
2007-2008 Cadillac Escalade
2007-2008 Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe
2007-2008 GMC Sierra, Yukon
The negative and/or positive battery cable terminal has a unique T-bolt that tightens the terminal around the battery post.
Over-tightening this bolt may cause the bolt to break. Because the battery cables are disconnected for many service procedures, there is an increased likelihood that these bolts may break.
DO NOT REPLACE ENTIRE NEGATIVE AND/OR POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE(S).
Replace the T-Bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
