LubricateSteering and Suspension
Lubricate chassis components. Lubricate the front suspension, steering linkage, transmission shift linkage, and parking brake cable guides. Control arm ball joints require lubrication but should not be lubricated unless their temperature is 10 degrees F (-12 degrees C) or higher, or they could be damaged. Vehicles used under severe commercial operating conditions require lubrication on a regular basis every 3,000 miles (5 000 km).
Inspect
Washer Fluid
Check windshield washer fluid level and add fluid as needed.
Vehicle
Visually check for any leaks or damage. A fluid loss in any vehicle system could indicate a problem. Have the system inspected and repaired and the fluid level checked. Add fluid if needed.
Coolant
Check engine coolant fluid level and add fluid as needed.
Brakes and Traction Control
Inspect Brake System. Visually inspect brake lines and hoses for proper hook-up, binding, leaks, cracks, chafing, etc. Inspect disc brake pads for wear and rotors for surface condition. Inspect other brake parts, including calipers, parking brake, etc.
Replace
Oil Filter, Engine
Fuel Filter
This vehicle has a "CHANGE FUEL FILTER" message in the Driver Information Center (DIC) to tell you when to replace the fuel filter. If the fuel filter has not been replaced, or if the vehicle has been driven 15,000 miles (25 000 km) or more since the fuel filter was last replaced, replace the filter and reset the message.
Engine Oil
Change engine oil and filter, or every 12 months whichever occurs first. Reset the oil life system.
Rotate
Tires
Rotate tires and check inflation pressures and wear.
