DTC Descriptor
DTC P2534
- Ignition 1 Switch Circuit
Circuit/System Description
The hybrid powertrain control module (HPCM) uses ignition 1 circuit terminal voltage to monitor the 12 V system voltage. Ignition 1 circuit voltage also powers several of the internal drive motor generator power inverter control module (PIM) components.
Conditions for Running the DTC
Ignition is ON.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The control module has detected ignition 1 circuit voltage less than 3 V.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
* DTC P2534 is a Type A DTC.
* The HPCM commands the engine OFF.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
DTC P2534 is a Type A DTC.
Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect PIM connector X1.
2. Ignition ON, test the voltage on the ignition 1 Switch circuit, between connector X1 terminal 20 and ground. The voltage should be within 0.5 V of actual battery voltage.
^ If more than the specified range, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the drive motor generator power inverter control module (PIM).
Repair Instructions
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure. Verification Tests
