Condition

Some customers may comment on one or more of the following Navigation radio features or soft controls:

1. During an approaching XM traffic warning pop up, the "map" soft key may not work as expected. The soft key button acts like a "Back" button instead of displaying a map screen with the current incident.

2. During an XM traffic event, when the selected language is French/Spanish and changing the displayed units from KM to Miles, the display may not update the traffic event screen with the newly selected units.

3. Some OnStar functions through the steering wheel controls are not functional when the map disc is removed from the radio. The customer may notice the functionality returns to normal when the disc is reinstalled in the MAP drive.

4. A traffic event display may not show the correct distance to the incident in the detail screen.

Cause

Early 2009 vehicles contained software anomalies where the Navigation radio may operate as described in the Condition section above.

Corrective Action

DO NOT attempt at this time to repair the vehicle. This bulletin will be reissued when software updates are available.
