Luggage Carrier Replacement (Acadia/OUTLOOK)

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the front finish cover (1), by using a flat-bladed tool, carefully remove the front finish cover from the luggage carrier side rails (2).
2. Remove the rear finish cover (4), by insert a suitable tool into the hole (3) depress the spring clip (8), slide the rear finish cover (4) rearward to disengage.
3. Remove the fasteners (5, 6) that retain the side rails to the roof panel.
4. Remove the side rails (2) from the roof panel by sliding rearward.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the side rails (2) to the roof panel.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the fasteners (5, 6) which retain the side rails to the roof panel, starting with the rearmost fasteners first on each side.

Tighten fasteners to 5 Nm (44 lb in).

3. Install the front finish cover (1) to the side rail, by pushing down on the cover until fully seated.
4. Install the rear finish cover (4), locking tab (7) is positioned on inboard side of the spring clip (8) before sliding it forward.
Slide the cover forward on the side rail to lock in place.
5. Ensure the finish cover are secure in place.
