Correction

Technicians are to replace all five air outlet trim rings with a new black painted part using the following procedure:

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Sir Disabling and Enabling.





2. Remove the Instrument Panel Compartment Access Hole Covers. Refer to the Instrument Panel Compartment Access Hole Cover Replacement (Acadia) procedure in SI.





3. Remove the Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate. Refer to the Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement (Acadia) procedure in SI.





4. Remove the Radio. Refer to the Radio Replacement (Acadia/OUTLOOK) procedure in SI.





5. Remove the Front Floor Console Accessory Trim Plate. Refer to the Front Floor Console Accessory Trim Plate Replacement (Acadia) procedure in SI.





6. Remove the left Windshield Garnish Molding. Refer to the Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement Left Side procedure in SI.





7. Remove the right Windshield Garnish Molding. Refer to the Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement - Right Side procedure in SI.





8. Remove the Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel. Refer to the Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel with Windshield Defroster Nozzle Grille Replacement (Acadia w/o RPO UV6) procedure in SI. If the vehicle is equipped with a Head Up Display (HUD) refer to the Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel with Windshield Defroster Nozzle Grille Replacement (Acadia w/RPO UV6) procedure in SI.





9. Remove the left Instrument Panel Insulator Panel. Refer to the Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement Left Side (Acadia) procedure in SI.





10. Remove the Driver Knee Bolster. Refer to the Driver Knee Bolster Replacement (Acadia) procedure in SI.





11. Remove the Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate. Refer to the Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Replacement procedure in SI.





12. Remove the Instrument Panel Cluster and the small support bracket behind it. Refer to the Instrument Cluster Replacement (Acadia) procedure in SI.





13. Remove the Instrument Cluster Head Up Display if necessary. Refer to the Instrument Cluster Head Up Display Replacement (Acadia) procedure in SI.





14. Remove the Instrument Panel Center Compartment. Refer to the Instrument Panel Center Compartment Replacement (Acadia) procedure in SI.





15. Remove the Front Radio Speaker. Refer to the Radio Front Speaker Replacement (Acadia) procedure in SI.





16. Remove the right Instrument Panel Insulator Panel. Refer to the Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement Right Side (Acadia) procedure in SI.





17. Remove the Instrument Panel Compartment. Refer to the Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement (Acadia) procedure in SI.





18. Remove the Instrument Panel Compartment Trim Plate. Refer to the Instrument Panel Compartment Trim Plate Replacement (Acadia) procedure in SI.





19. Remove the Instrument Panel Trim Pad. Refer to the Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement (Acadia w/o RPO UV6) procedure in SI. If the vehicle is equipped with a HUD refer to the Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement (Acadia w/RPO UV6) procedure in SI.





20. Remove the Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet assembly from the Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate. Refer to the Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Replacement (Acadia) procedure in SI.

21. Remove the two air flow close off levers from the Air Outlet assembly.

22. Remove the air ducts from the front air louvers.

23. Using a small screwdriver or flat-bladed tool release the chrome trim rings retainers and remove the chrome trim rings.

24. Install three new black painted trim rings onto the front air louvers.

25. Install the air ducts onto the front air louvers.

26. Install the two air flow close off levers onto the Air Outlet assembly.

27. Install the Air Outlet assembly onto the Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate.

28. Working from the underside of the Instrument Panel Trim Pad use a small screwdriver or flat-bladed tool to release the chrome trim ring retainers on the left and right Air Outlet assemblies and remove the trim rings. It is not necessary to remove the Air Outlet assemblies from the Instrument Panel Trim Pad.

29. Install new black painted trim rings on the left and right Air Outlet assemblies.

30. Install the Instrument Panel Trim Pad.

31. Install the Instrument Panel Compartment Trim Plate.

32. Install the Instrument Panel Compartment.

33. Install the right Instrument Panel Insulator Panel.

34. Install the Front Radio Speaker.

35. Install the Instrument Panel Center Compartment.

36. Install the Instrument Cluster Head Up Display if necessary.

37. Install the Instrument Panel Cluster and the small support bracket behind it.

38. Install the Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate.

39. Install the Driver Knee Bolster.

40. Install the left Instrument Panel Insulator Panel.

41. Install the Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel.

42. Install the left Windshield Garnish Molding.

43. Install the right Windshield Garnish Molding.

44. Install the Front Floor Console Accessory Trim Plate.

45. Install the Radio.

46. Install the Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate.

47. Install the Instrument Panel Compartment Access Hole Covers.

48. Enable the SIR system.

49. Verify proper operation of the Air Outlet louvers and air flow close off levers.
