Circuit/System Description

When replacing a radio or installing a new radio, the radio must be setup and programmed using SPS through a TIS terminal. The SPS procedure will setup the radio with the correct calibration file, allowing proper radio operation. Failure to setup a radio will results in the radio displays CAL or CAL ERR.

Circuit/System Verification

Ignition ON, perform radio setup procedure. Refer to Radio Programming and Setup (Programming and Relearning). Verify the radio operates normally and no messages are displayed on the radio.

If the message continues to display on the radio, replace the radio.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
