Digital Radio Receiver Replacement
Removal Procedure
Note: Do NOT swap digital radio receivers between vehicles. Swapping digital receivers between vehicles will activate the digital radio Theftlock(R), and "XM Theftlock(R)" will display.
1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) compartment door. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Unfold the service panel located above the I/P compartment door.
3. Remove the I/P access cover.
4. Remove the screws retaining the digital radio receiver to the I/P structure.
5. Lower the receiver from the I/P.
Note: Do not attempt to pry or slide the electrical connector release lever (1).
6. Disconnect the electrical connector by pushing on the release lever (1).
7. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) (2) from the electrical connector.
8. Remove the connector from the receiver.
9. Remove the receiver from the vehicle.
10. If replacing the receiver, remove the nuts retaining the receiver to the mounting bracket.
11. Remove the receiver from the mounting bracket.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
1. If replacing the receiver, install the receiver to the mounting bracket and install the retaining nuts.
Tighten the nuts to 3 Nm (26 lb in).
2. Position the receiver to the I/P.
3. Connect the receiver electrical connectors.
4. Install the CPA (2) to the electrical connector.
5. Install the receiver to the I/P.
6. Install the screws retaining the digital radio receiver to the I/P structure.
Tighten the screws to 3 Nm (27 lb in).
7. Close the service panel located above the I/P compartment door.
8. Install the I/P compartment door. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Replacement (Service and Repair).
9. Install the I/P access cover.
10. Perform the setup procedure for the digital radio receiver. Refer to Control Module References (Programming and Relearning).
