Tightening Torques & Sequences

CYLINDER HEAD BOLTS





This component uses torque-to-yield bolts. When servicing this component do not reuse the bolts, New torque-to-yield bolts must be installed. Reusing used torque-to-yield bolts will not provide proper bolt torque and clamp load. Failure to install NEW torque-to-yield bolts may lead to engine damage.


Cylinder Head Bolt - 14
First Pass 30 Nm (22 lb ft)
Final Pass 155 degrees

Cylinder Head End Bolts - 2 Short
First Pass 7 Nm (62 lb in)
Final Pass 60 degrees

Cylinder Head End Bolts - 1 Long
First Pass 7 Nm (62 lb in)
Final Pass 120 degrees

INTAKE MANIFOLD

Intake Manifold Bolt 10 Nm (89 lb in)

CAMSHAFT BEARING CAP

Camshaft Cap Bolt 12 Nm (106 lb in)

MAIN BEARING CAP

Crankshaft Main Bearing Cap Bolt
First Pass 25 Nm (18 lb ft)
Final Pass 180 degrees

ROD BEARING CAP

Connecting Rod Cap Bolt
First Pass 25 Nm (18 lb ft)
Final Pass 110 degrees

CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

Crankshaft Balancer Bolt
First Pass 150 Nm (110.6 lb ft)
Final Pass 180 degrees

FLYWHEEL/FLEXPLATE

Engine Flywheel Bolt
First Pass 25 Nm (18 lb ft)
Final Pass 50 degrees

OIL PUMP

Oil Pump Cover Bolt 10 Nm (89 lb in)
