Mode Door Replacement - Lower

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the instrument panel carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement (Service and Repair).




2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the lower mode actuator (2).
3. Remove the lower mode actuator (2) from the heater assembly (4).
4. Remove the linkage from the lower mode actuator (2).
5. Remove the heater case screws.
6. Remove the outer heater case.




7. Remove the lower mode door (1) from the inner heater case (2).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the lower mode door (1) to the inner heater case (2).
2. Install the outer heater case.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the heater case retaining screws and tighten to1.9 Nm (17 lb in).




4. Install the linkage to the lower mode actuator (2).
5. Install the lower mode actuator (2) to the heater assembly.
6. Connect the vacuum hose to the lower mode actuator (2).
7. Install the instrument panel carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement (Service and Repair).
