Power Brake Booster Inlet Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Caution (Service Precautions).

1. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Siphon the power steering fluid from the reservoir to prevent excessive spillage.
3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the power brake booster inlet hose (2) from the power steering pump (1) through the wheel well.
5. Lower the vehicle.




6. Remove the power brake booster inlet hose (1) from the power brake booster (2).
7. Remove the power brake booster inlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Caution (Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Caution).

1. Route the hose in the same position the hose occupied prior to removal.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the power brake booster inlet hose (1) to the power brake booster (2). Hand tighten.
3. Raise the vehicle.




4. Install the power brake booster inlet hose (2) to the power steering pump (1) through the wheel well. Tighten the hose fitting to 33 Nm (24 lb ft).
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Tighten the power brake booster inlet hose to the power brake booster to 33 Nm (24 lb ft).
7. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding (Service and Repair).
8. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
