Power Brake Booster Outlet Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Caution (Service Precautions).

1. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Siphon the power steering fluid from the reservoir to prevent excessive spillage.
3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).




4. Through the wheel well, disconnect the power brake booster outlet hose (1) from the power steering gear (2).
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Remove the water deflector from the fender.
7. Remove the power brake booster outlet hose (1) from the power brake booster (2).
8. Remove the power brake booster outlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Caution: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Caution (Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Caution).

1. Route the hose in the same position the hose occupied prior to removal.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).




2. Install the power brake booster outlet hose (1) to the power brake booster (2). Hand tighten.
3. Raise the vehicle.




4. Through the wheel well, connect the power brake booster outlet hose to the power steering gear (2) and tighten to 33 Nm (24 lb ft).
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Tighten the power brake booster outlet hose at the power brake booster to 33 Nm (24 lb ft).
7. Install the water deflector to the fender.
8. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding (Service and Repair).
9. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
