Discharge Hose Replacement




Discharge Hose Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L)

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure




1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging).
2. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement (Base) (Service and Repair)Grille Replacement (Uplevel) (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the discharge line nut (2) from the condenser.
5. Remove the discharge line bolt from the compressor.
6. Remove the discharge line from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the discharge hose into the vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the discharge hose nut (2) to the condenser and tighten to16 Nm (12 lb ft).
3. Install the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement (Base) (Service and Repair)Grille Replacement (Uplevel) (Service and Repair).
4. Install the discharge hose to the compressor.
5. Install the discharge hose to the compressor bolt and tighten to35 Nm (26 lb ft).
6. Install the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A .
