Torque Converter Housing with Fluid Pump Assembly Removal





Caution: Refer to Torque Converter Housing/Low and Reverse Clutch Housing Bolt Size Caution (Torque Converter Housing/Low and Reverse Clutch Housing Bolt Size Caution) .
1. Remove 18 bolts (1), one bolt (2), and one bolt (3).






Warning

The torque converter housing/oil pump cover assembly dry weights are approximately 27 kg (60 lb). To help avoid personal injury and/or property damage:

* Use caution when installing, removing, or moving the converter housing/oil pump cover assembly.
* Get help when lifting the converter housing/oil pump cover assembly.
* Assistance from a hoist or another person may be required.
* Make sure lifting equipment can properly support the converter housing/oil pump cover assembly.


2. Attach a sling to the converter housing (1).
3. Attach a hoist to the sling.
4. Remove the converter housing/oil pump cover assembly (1) from the transmission case (4) and the turbine shaft (2).
5. Place the converter housing/oil pump cover assembly on the work table.
6. Remove the sling.
7. Remove and discard the main housing/separator plate gasket (3).
