Condition

Important
If the customer did not bring their vehicle in for this concern, DO NOT proceed with this bulletin.

Some customers may comment that the front or rear side door window has one or more of the following concerns:

- Window is inoperative
- Window rattles or squeaks
- Window binds
- Window has slow operation
- Window fits poorly or is misaligned

Use this bulletin if preliminary diagnosis leads you to believe the concerns are related to the window glass or window regulator. DO NOT use this bulletin if it is a door alignment or fit issue.

Cause

GM Engineering is attempting to determine the root cause of the above window regulator concerns. There has been an increase in window regulator warranty and a high percentage of regulators returned to Warranty Parts Center (WPC) show no trouble found. Engineering has a need to gather information on vehicles, PRIOR to repair, that may exhibit this condition. As a result, this information will be used to "root cause" the customer's concern and develop/validate a field fix.

Instructions

If a vehicle is encountered with the above concern, please contact a GM engineer before performing any additional steps. The engineer may want to visit the dealer to examine the vehicle prior to repair and observe the repair process if the dealer is located within the Metro Detroit area.

Contact Information

If the engineer is unable to take your call, please leave the following information in a message:

- Technician Name
- Dealer Name and Phone Number
- Complete VIN and Repair Order Number

If engineering is unable to return the call within one hour, proceed with diagnosis and repair based on information found in SI.
