Wiring Harness Replacement
2ML70 -Automatic Transmission
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the transmission fluid filter and auxiliary fluid pump filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter and Auxiliary Fluid Pump Filter Replacement (Removal and Replacement).
2. Disconnect the transmission 24 Way connector.
3. Disconnect the transmission 16 Way connector.
4. Remove the transmission electrical connector passage sleeve. Refer to Automatic Transmission Electrical Connector Passage Sleeve Replacement (Automatic Transmission Electrical Connector Passage Sleeve Replacement).
5. Remove the control wiring harness from the wire harness retainer (2).
6. Remove the control wiring harness connector (1) from the wire harness retainer.
7. Disconnect the control wiring harness from the solenoid valve body (3).
8. Disconnect the manual shift shaft position switch connector.
9. Disconnect the output shaft speed sensor connector.
10. Remove the manual shift detent spring bolt (4).
11. Remove the manual shift detent spring (5).
Note: Do not remove all the bolts in the control valve body assembly. Remove only the bolts indicated.
12. Remove the 4 control valve upper body bolts (4) M6 x 1.0 x 65.
13. Remove the 2 control valve upper body bolts (5) M6 x 1.0 x 80.
14. Remove the control (w/body and TCM) valve assembly (6).
15. Remove the automatic transmission (A/T) fluid pump seal assembly (7).
Discard the A/T fluid pump seal.
16. Remove the hybrid low, 1-2 clutch regulator valve seals (8).
Discard the clutch regulator valve seals.
17. Disconnect the 2 drive motor connectors from the control wiring harness.
18. Remove the control wiring harness (2) and O-ring seal (1). Discard the O-ring seal.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the control wiring harness (2) and NEW O-ring seal (1).
2. Install NEW hybrid low, 1-2 clutch regulator valve seals (8).
3. Install a NEW A/T fluid pump seal assembly (7).
4. Connect the 2 drive motor connectors to the control wiring harness.
5. Install the control (w/body and TCM) valve assembly (6) and align the manual shift shaft position switch activator slide with the detent lever guide pin.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
6. Install the 4 control valve upper body bolts (4) M6 x 1.0 x 65 and 2 control valve upper body bolts (5) M6 x 1.0 x 80.
Tighten in the sequence shown to 11 Nm(97 lb in).
7. Install the manual shift detent spring (5).
8. Install the manual shift detent spring bolt (4) and tighten to 11 Nm(97 lb in)..
9. Connect the control wiring harness to the control solenoid valve body (3).
10. Connect the output shaft speed sensor connector.
11. Connect the manual shift shaft position switch.
12. Install the control wiring harness connector (1) in the wire harness retainer.
13. Install the control wiring harness to the wire harness retainer (2).
14. Install the transmission electrical connector passage sleeve. Refer to Automatic Transmission Electrical Connector Passage Sleeve Replacement (Automatic Transmission Electrical Connector Passage Sleeve Replacement).
15. Connect the transmission 16 Way connector.
16. Connect the transmission 24 Way connector.
17. Install the transmission fluid filter and auxiliary fluid pump filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter and Auxiliary Fluid Pump Filter Replacement (Removal and Replacement).
