Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the hood.




2. Remove the cable (1) from the hood latch (3).




3. Remove the cable (1) from the retainer on the radiator support.
4. Push the cable (1) and the grommet into the cab from the engine compartment.
5. Remove the left side hinge pillar trim panel from the body. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement (Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement).
6. Remove the screws retaining the cable handle (3) to the body.
7. Remove the handle (3) from the body.
8. Remove the cable (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the cable (1) to the vehicle.




2. Route the cable (1) from the cabin into the engine compartment.
3. Install the cable grommet into the bulkhead.
4. Install the cable handle (3) to the body.
5. Install the screws in order to retain the cable handle (3) to the body.
6. Install the left side hinge pillar trim panel to the body. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement (Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement).
7. Install the cable (1) to the retainer on the radiator support.
8. Install the cable (1) to the hood latch.
9. Close the hood.
