Front Differential Carrier Bracket Replacement (25, 35 Series)

Removal Procedure

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the differential carrier assembly. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (1500 FWD) (Service and Repair)Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (2500 4WD) (Service and Repair).
3. For the 6.0L engine, remove the air conditioning compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LLY/LMM) (Removal and Replacement)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LU3) (Removal and Replacement)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LY2, LY5, LH6, L76, L92 and LMG) (Removal and Replacement)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (HP2) (Removal and Replacement).




4. Remove the nuts and the washers from the bracket.
5. Remove the bracket from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the bracket to the vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the washers and the nuts to the bracket.

Tighten the bracket to frame nuts to 90 Nm (67 lb ft).

3. For the 6.0L engine, install the air conditioning compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LLY/LMM) (Removal and Replacement)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LU3) (Removal and Replacement)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (LY2, LY5, LH6, L76, L92 and LMG) (Removal and Replacement)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (HP2) (Removal and Replacement).
4. Install the differential carrier assembly. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (1500 FWD) (Service and Repair)Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (2500 4WD) (Service and Repair).
5. Lower the vehicle.
