J-21177-A - Drum-to-Brake Shoe Clearance Gauge
Warning: Refer to Brake Dust Warning (Brake Dust Warning).
1. Remove the rear disc brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement Rear Brake Rotor Replacement.
2. Set the J-21177-A - Drum-to-Brake Shoe Clearance Gauge so it lightly contacts the parking brake shoe friction surface of the brake rotor.
3. Position the J-21177-A - Drum-to-Brake Shoe Clearance Gauge over the parking brake shoes (1) at the widest point.
4. Rotate the parking brake adjuster until the parking brake shoes just contact the J-21177-A - Drum-to-Brake Shoe Clearance Gauge.
5. Using a feeler gauge. set the parking brake shoe clearance to 0.62 mm (0.024 in.)
6. Repeat steps 1-4 for the opposite parking brake assembly.
7. Install the rear disc brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement Rear Brake Rotor Replacement.
