Parking Brake Actuator Replacement (J90, J95, J96)

Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Brake Dust Warning (Brake Dust Warning).


1. Disable the parking brake cable adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling (Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling)
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the parking brake shoes. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (JD9) (Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (JD9))Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (J90, J95, J96) (Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (J90, J95, J96)).




5. Disconnect the parking brake cable eye (1) from the parking brake actuator lever.




6. Remove the parking brake actuator (1).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the parking brake actuator (1).




2. Connect the parking brake cable eye (1) to the parking brake actuator lever.
3. Install the parking brake shoes. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (JD9) (Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (JD9))Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (J90, J95, J96) (Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (J90, J95, J96)).
4. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
5. Enable the parking brake cable adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling (Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling).
