Rear Parking Brake Anchor Backing Plate Replacement (J90, J95, J96)

Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Brake Dust Warning (Brake Dust Warning).


1. Disable the parking brake cable adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling (Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling).
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the rear brake backing plate. Refer to Rear Brake Backing Plate Replacement (JD9) (Rear Brake Backing Plate Replacement (JD9))Rear Brake Backing Plate Replacement (J90, J95, J96) (Rear Brake Backing Plate Replacement (J90, J95, J96)).




5. Remove the parking brake anchor plate bolts (1).




6. Remove the parking brake anchor plate (1).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the parking brake anchor plate (1).





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the parking brake anchor plate bolts (1) and tighten to 300 Nm (221 lb ft).
3. Install the rear brake backing plate. Refer to Rear Brake Backing Plate Replacement (JD9) (Rear Brake Backing Plate Replacement (JD9))Rear Brake Backing Plate Replacement (J90, J95, J96) (Rear Brake Backing Plate Replacement (J90, J95, J96)).
4. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
5. Enable the parking brake cable adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling (Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling).
