For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools (Allison - Automatic Transmission).
1. Position main valve body assembly (4) on the work table so that the worm-track side is up.
2. Align separator plate (2) with main valve body locating pins (3).
3. Install separator plate (2).
4. Align shift valve body assembly (1) with main valve body locating pins (3).
5. Install the shift valve body assembly onto the separator plate.
6. Position the control valve assembly on the work table so that the main valve body is facing up.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
7. Install 11 bolts (1) retaining the valve bodies together and tighten the bolts to 12 Nm (106 lb in).
8. Position the control valve assembly on the work table so that the shift valve body (1) is up.
Note:
* O-ring (4) is slightly larger than O-ring (3).
* P/N 29536833 is printed on the shift solenoid 1 (SS1) (5).
9. Install the solenoid O-ring (4) onto the SS1 (5).
10. Install the solenoid O-ring (3) onto the SS1 (5).
11. Align the SS1 (5) so that the electrical connector points away from the nearest locating pin and is parallel to the separator plate as shown.
12. Install the solenoid retainer (2).
13. Position the control valve assembly on the work table so that main valve body is facing up.
Note: P/N 29541895 is printed on the pressure control solenoid 1 (PCS1).
14. Install the solenoid O-ring (3) onto the PCS1 (4).
Note: P/N 29541896 is printed on the pressure control solenoid 2 (PCS2).
15. Install the solenoid O-ring (1) onto the PCS2 (2).
16. Install PCS1 (4) so that the electrical connection faces up. Do not seat the solenoid.
17. Install PCS2 (2) so the electrical connection faces up. Do not seat the solenoid.
18. Align three accumulator plugs (4) so that the spring bores face up.
19. Install three accumulator plugs (4) and three accumulator springs (3).
20. Push PCS1 and PCS2 into the bores until the solenoids seat.
21. Align the PCS retaining bracket (2) with main valve body locating pin.
22. Install the PCS retaining bracket (2) so that PCS1 and PCS2, the accumulator plugs, and the accumulator springs are retained against the valve body.
23. Install three bolts (1) retaining the PCS retaining bracket (2) and tighten the bolts to 12 Nm (106 lb in)
Note:
* The solenoid O-rings are blue.
* O-ring (3) is slightly larger than O-ring (2).
* P/N 29536833 is printed on the shift solenoid 3 (SS3).
24. Install the solenoid O-ring (3) onto the SS3 (4).
25. Install the solenoid O-ring (2) onto the SS3 (4).
26. Install the SS3 (4) in the main valve body (5) so that the electrical connection faces up. seat the solenoid.
27. Install the solenoid retainer (1).
Note:
* The solenoid O-rings are blue.
* O-ring (3) is slightly larger than O-ring (2).
* P/N 29536833 is printed on shift solenoid 2 (SS2).
28. Install the solenoid O-ring (3) onto the SS2 (4).
29. Install the solenoid O-ring (2) onto the SS2 (4).
30. Install the SS2 (4) in the main valve body (5) so that the electrical connection faces up. seat the solenoid.
31. Install the solenoid retainer (1).
Note:
* P/N 29541898 is printed on the torque converter clutch pressure control solenoid (TCC PCS).
* The solenoid O-rings are green.
* O-ring (4) is slightly larger than O-ring (3).
32. Install the solenoid O-ring (4) onto the TCC PCS (5).
33. Install the solenoid O-ring (3) onto the TCC PCS (5).
34. Align the TCC PCS (5) so that the electrical connection faces up.
35. Install the TCC PCS. Seat the solenoid.
36. Align the PCS retaining bracket (2) with the main valve body locating pin.
37. Install the PCS retaining bracket (2) so that the TCC PCS is against the valve body.
38. Install the bolt (1) retaining the bracket and tighten the bolts to 12 Nm (106 lb in).
Note: Ensure that all O-rings are present and in good condition on the transmission fluid pressure (TFP) switch.
39. Align the bolts holes and alignment tabs of the transmission fluid pressure (TFP) switch (1) with the TFP switch holes in main valve body (2).
40. Install TFP switch (1) onto main valve body (2).
Note:
