Main Shaft Disassemble




1. Use a flange or some other type of tool to place the assembly in a vertical position.




2. Remove the clutch bearing from the drive shaft and the synchronizer ring.




3. Remove the pulleys, the track, and the push bearing.




4. Remove the 3rd and 4th gear synchronizer.




5. Remove the 3rd gear synchronizer.




6. Remove the 3rd gear.




7. Remove the cage with the 3rd gear rollers.




8. Using a bearing remover or press, remove the 3rd gear hub, supporting it on the 2nd gear.




9. Remove the 2nd gear roller cage.




10. Remove the 2nd gear synchronizer ring.




11. Using locking pliers, remove the snap ring from the synchronization hammer on the 1st and 2nd gears.




12. Using a bearing press or remover, remove the 1st gear and the synchronizer.




13. Remove the 1st and 2nd gear synchronizer.




14. Remove the synchronizer ring and intermediate ring from the 1st gear.




15. Remove the 1st gear interior taper bearing.




16. Remove the 1st gear.




17. Remove the 1st gear roller cage.




18. Invert the main shaft so the 5th gear is positioned upward.
19. Using a remover or a press, remove the 5th gear.




20. Remove the push pulley from the reverse gear.




21. Using a magnet, remove the pulley sphere from the reverse gear.




22. Remove the reverse gear and the synchronizer.




23. Remove the roller cage from the reverse gear.




24. Remove the reverse synchronizer ring.




25. Using locking pliers, remove the snap ring from the reverse clutch ring.




26. Remove the reverse clutch bearing.
