Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Cooler Cleaning and Inspection (LGH)
1. Remove the heater inlet hose connector (1).
2. Remove the heater hose (2).
3. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve cooling feed hose (1).
4. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve assembly bolts (1).
5. Remove the EGR valve assembly cover (2).
6. Remove the EGR valve assembly (4) and gaskets (3).
7. Discard the EGR valve assembly gaskets (3).
8. Remove the EGR cooler assembly bolts (1).
9. Remove the EGR cooler assembly (2).
10. Remove and discard the EGR cooler assembly gasket (3).
11. Clean the EGR valve assembly (1) and EGR coolers (2).
12. Clean and inspect the EGR valve assembly gasket sealing surfaces.
13. Inspect the EGR valve assembly and EGR coolers for damage.
14. Replace the EGR valve assembly or EGR coolers if damage is found.
15. Install a NEW EGR cooler assembly gasket (3).
16. Install the EGR cooler assembly (2).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
17. Install the EGR cooler assembly bolts (1) and hand tighten.
18. Install NEW EGR valve assembly gaskets (3).
19. Install the EGR valve assembly (4).
20. Install the EGR valve assembly cover (2).
21. Install the EGR valve assembly bolts (1) and hand tighten.
22. Install the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve cooling feed hose (1).
23. Install the heater hose (2).
24. Install the heater inlet hose connector (1).
