Fuel High Pressure Pipe Replacement - Pump to Rail

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the high pressure fuel pipe fastener (1).
2. Remove the center intake manifold. Refer to Center Intake Manifold Replacement Center Intake Manifold Replacement.




3. Remove the high pressure fuel pipe fitting (1) at the fuel pump.
4. Remove the high pressure fuel pipe fitting (2) at the fuel rail.
5. Remove the high pressure fuel pipes (3) as an assembly.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

1. Install the high pressure fuel pipe fitting (1) at the fuel pump and tighten to 38 Nm (28 lb ft).
2. Remove the high pressure fuel pipe fitting (2) at the fuel rail and tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb ft).




3. Install the high pressure fuel fastener (1) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in)
4. Install the center intake manifold. Refer to Center Intake Manifold Replacement Center Intake Manifold Replacement.
5. Start the engine.
If the engine does not start, repeat the above step.
6. Inspect the fuel system for leaks.
