Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve and Cooler Installation (LGH)




1. Install the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler bracket (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the EGR cooler bracket bolts (2) and tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).




3. Install the EGR valve gaskets (6).
4. Install the EGR valve and cooler (7).
5. Install and hand tighten the EGR valve and cooler bolts (1-5).




6. Tighten the EGR valve and cooler bolts in sequence.
7. Tighten the EGR valve and cooler bolts (1-3) to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
8. Tighten the EGR valve and cooler bolts (4) to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
9. Tighten the EGR valve and cooler bolts (5) to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).




10. Install the EGR valve temperature sensor (1) and tighten to 44 Nm (32 lb ft).




11. Install the intake manifold tube seal (3).
12. Install the intake manifold tube (2).
13. Install the intake manifold tube bolts (1) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).




14. Install the turbocharger cooler feed hose (3).
15. Install the turbocharger cooler feed hose clamp (2).
16. Install the turbocharger cooler feed hose clamp bolt (1) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).




17. Install the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor (2).
18. Install the MAP sensor bolt (1) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




19. Install the intake heater gasket (5).
20. Install the intake heater (4).
21. Install the throttle body gasket (3).
22. Install the throttle body (2).
23. Install the throttle body bolts (1) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
