Auxiliary HVAC Module Removal and Installation
Removal Procedure
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac N Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac N Fill)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill Diesel) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill Diesel).
3. Remove the left rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Body Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side Body Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side.
4. Remove the left rear corner garnish molding. Refer to Body Rear Corner Garnish Molding Replacement Body Rear Corner Garnish Molding Replacement.
5. Remove the air distribution duct upper. Refer to Auxiliary Air Conditioning Air Outlet Duct Replacement Auxiliary Air Conditioning Air Outlet Duct Replacement.
6. Remove the air distribution duct lower. Refer to Auxiliary Heater Air Outlet Duct Replacement Auxiliary Heater Air Outlet Duct Replacement.
7. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the auxiliary HVAC module (1).
8. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
9. Remove the cover from the underside of the auxiliary HVAC module.
10. Remove the one retaining nut in order to remove the auxiliary evaporator underbody rear tube assembly from the core.
11. Disconnect the heater lines from the underside of the auxiliary HVAC module.
12. Remove the retaining nuts from the underside of the auxiliary HVAC module.
13. Lower the vehicle.
14. Remove the auxiliary HVAC module.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the auxiliary HVAC module.
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
3. Install the retaining nuts to the underside of the auxiliary HVAC module and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
4. Connect the heater lines to the underside of the auxiliary heater.
5. Install the one retaining nut to the auxiliary evaporator underbody rear tube assembly to the core and tighten to 28 Nm (21 lb ft).
6. Install the cover to the underside of the auxiliary HVAC module.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Connect the electrical connectors to the auxiliary HVAC module (1).
9. Install the air distribution duct upper. Refer to Auxiliary Air Conditioning Air Outlet Duct Replacement Auxiliary Air Conditioning Air Outlet Duct Replacement.
10. Install the air distribution duct lower. Refer to Auxiliary Heater Air Outlet Duct Replacement Auxiliary Heater Air Outlet Duct Replacement.
11. Install the left rear corner garnish molding. Refer to Body Rear Corner Garnish Molding Replacement Body Rear Corner Garnish Molding Replacement.
12. Install the left rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Body Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side Body Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side.
13. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
14. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac N Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac N Fill)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill Diesel) Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill Diesel).
