Air Conditioning Compressor Belt Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the accessory belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory.
2. Remove the engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Protection Shield Replacement Service and Repair.
3. Cut the belt (1) from the air conditioning (A/C) and crankshaft pulleys.
4. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the CMP sensor wiring harness.
5. Remove the CMP sensor wire harness fasteners (738).
6. Disconnect the CMP sensor wire harness connectors from the CMP sensor and the CMP actuator magnet.
7. Remove the CMP sensor wire harness (737).
Installation Procedure
1. Position the belt behind the rear face of the balancer and around the A/C pulley.
2. Install the belt installation tool onto the balancer.
3. Slowly rotate the crankshaft pulley in a counterclockwise direction 180 degrees (a) while using finger pressure to pull the belt forward. Ensure the ribbed area of the belt remains facing forward and the belt aligns properly to the A/C pulley.
Note: As the balancer is rotated clockwise, the belt installation tool will release from the belt.
4. After installation of the belt, rotate the balancer clockwise 360 degrees (a).
5. Inspect the drive belt (1) for proper installation and alignment.
6. Position the CMP sensor wire harness (737) and connect the CMP sensor and CMP actuator magnet connectors.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
7. Install the CMP sensor fasteners and tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb in).
8. Connect the engine wire harness electrical connector to the CMP sensor harness.
9. Install the skid plate. Refer to Engine Protection Shield Replacement Service and Repair.
10. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory.
